As a Carnegie Mellon Alum, I am currently employed by GlaxoSmithKline in Collegeville, PA. I was hired through a crummy consulting company and begin working in August. I will be using this blog mainly for reflecting on my work, play, sleep, writing down amusing things, and giving my girlfriend a view into my brain.
Crazy stuff I might be doing at any given time: Not sleeping – At the beginning of March I have started the “Everyman” sleeping schedule. While doing this, I sleep for 3 hours at night, and then take three 20 minute naps during the day for a total of 4 hours of sleep.
I also have a hidden talent. It was so hidden that after I thought about it, I forgot. I have deft abilities of feeling solid objects in a mix of other objects, often from behind me. From several years of crew trips and reaching behind the seat into a duffle bag for a desired object my skills were honed. The speed and accuracy at which I can retrieve buried objects may astound. Bring me a bag with lots of junk in it, and I’ll find one specific piece of junk. Please, no syringes, funny people.
I can see me in your sunglasses.
Adam-
I just got accepted to the Connecticut corps. I have two weeks to figure out if Teach for America is what I want to do for the next two years. I feel like advice from an active corps member would really help. I guess my only real fear is failing to get through to these kids. Any advice on how to make this decision?
“I tend to be socially incompatible, however, when put into a situation with someone even more awkward, I get a large boost of confidence.”
–Sounds like something that could come straight out of my mouth.
Hey there,
How much inner strength do you believe it takes to be part of TFA? Perhaps I shouldn’t even submit part I of my app if I’m asking that. I’ve got a lot of faith, but I am in no way competetive.
How’s it going in Connecticut?
best,
Jennifer Rodriguez

Its been forever since i last contacted you. Hope all is well. Ok!! So before you wonder HOW i came to know of this blog. I was working in India (Mumbai to be specific) and decided to search for an old article on my high school cross country team. I did not know how to search for it so just searched for my name and came up with some interesting links. One of them was your link where you mentioned my name for the meeting at Rocky’s, hehe!! Anyways, i have been reading up on how things have been for you lately. Sounds like you are doing well. Am very glad to hear that. The Europe trip sounded amazing.
